Online Tools: PixelPort Client Galleries
Sharing holiday photos with family needs very little. Delivering photos to paying clients usually needs more: a branded gallery, client proofing, secure downloads and a way to sell prints. This page describes the online service we currently feature for that job, PixelPort.

What PixelPort is
PixelPort (pixelport.co) is an online client gallery platform. A photographer or videographer uploads a finished shoot, and the client receives one link to a branded gallery. In that gallery the client can view photos and 4K video, mark favorites, download files, and buy digital images, prints or albums. Clients don't need to create an account or install an app. Depending on the gallery settings, they may be asked for a password or their email address.
Who it is for
PixelPort is built mainly for photographers who deliver galleries to clients. On its website it names these users:
- Wedding, portrait, newborn, event, real estate and boudoir photographers
- Videographers who want to deliver films next to photos in the same gallery
- Studios that want to sell prints, albums or digital downloads directly from the gallery
- Photographers moving from another gallery platform. PixelPort says it imports galleries from Pic-Time, Pixieset, ShootProof, SmugMug and Zenfolio.
Main features
The features below are described on PixelPort's website. Some are only available on higher plans, as shown in the plans table.
Delivery and branding
- Galleries with your own logo, colors and typography. Paid plans remove PixelPort's branding.
- Custom domain on every paid plan, with the SSL certificate managed by PixelPort
- Photos and 4K video streamed together in one gallery (video is available on paid plans)
- Folders to split a shoot into parts, such as ceremony and reception, and several gallery layouts
- Galleries stay online for as long as the subscription is active
Privacy and proofing
- Each gallery can be public, unlisted (link only), gated by the client's email address, or password-protected
- Downloads can be switched on or off for each gallery
- Text or logo watermarks on proofs, while buyers download the clean original
- Clients mark favorites and submit their selection inside the gallery
- Activity tracking: views, favorites, downloads and return visits
Selling
- Sell individual digital photos, or the whole gallery at one buy-all price
- Lab-fulfilled prints and albums (PixelPort names Prodigi, WHCC and Bay Photo)
- Coupon codes
- Checkout through your own Stripe account. PixelPort states it takes 0% commission on sales on every plan. Stripe's processing fees and print lab costs still apply.
Studio tools
- Team seats: 3 on Professional, 5 on Studio
- On Studio: contracts and e-signatures, revenue analytics by client and gallery, multiple brand presets, and read access to a REST API

Before you sign up
- Estimate your storage. Add up the size of a few recent shoots, including any video, and compare that with the plan limits.
- Check bandwidth. According to PixelPort, bandwidth above a paid plan's monthly allowance is billed at $0.25 per GB, and the free plan is never billed.
- Count payment costs. PixelPort takes no commission, but Stripe charges its standard processing fee, which depends on your country, and print labs charge for products and shipping.
- Try before committing. The free plan needs no card. PixelPort says new paid subscriptions have a 30-day money-back guarantee, and plans can be changed or cancelled at any time. After cancelling, galleries stay accessible for 30 days so you can export them.
- Yearly prices: PixelPort's pricing page asks you to contact them after signing up to switch to annual billing.
- Read the provider's terms. Your contract is with PixelPort, so review its terms and privacy policy, especially if you handle client photos under data protection rules such as the GDPR.
Sharing personal photos?
If you only want to share family, travel or pet photos with people you know, PixelPort is probably more than you need. A shared album in the photo app you already use, or a cloud storage link, is usually simpler. Step 10 of our Photo Guide compares these options, and the Gallery Ideas page helps you plan the gallery itself.
